When your goal is to get more energy, you need to start looking at what sort of nutrients give your body energy. Calories are energy, but we're also looking for a little more pep in our step.
We're looking for Carbohydrates. They're your body's main source of energy.
They're not bad for you, but if you're on a keto diet, it'll definitely take you out of ketosis.
Beets are a great source of carbs, so we tend to lean towards those when we're looking for a dose of energy in our juice, and you'll notice there's quite a bit of a red hue in a lot of the recipes below. Beets are one of the ingredients that can make you feel a little 'buzzed' after juicing them. We try to limit ourselves to a beet per 16oz because if you juice a bit too much, you'll be in the bathroom soon enough.
